Mission, Texas — On the morning of Saturday, June 14, the community gathered at Bentsen Palm Community Park to take part in the Wreaths Across America 5K, an event designed to raise awareness and support for the organization’s mission of honoring fallen military heroes. In the heart of the Rio Grande Valley, the walk/run/ride brought together families, veterans, active-duty service members, and supporters to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Serenity Fields Cemetery was proud to be on-site for the occasion, joining dozens of local organizations and community leaders who share a commitment to honoring our veterans and promoting forward-thinking end-of-life planning. The cemetery’s Sales Manager, Nancy Chapa, represented Serenity Fields at the event, connecting with attendees, answering questions, and offering resources for those interested in learning more about pre-need burial planning.

As part of Serenity Fields’ ongoing efforts to educate and support the community, the team hosted a special free raffle giveaway for participants at the event. The event also included special appearances from local veteran advocates and officials, including George Rice, the regional representative for the Texas Veterans Land Board, who offered information about the state cemetery system and veteran benefits.
